Ms. Maci Wilcox, ESL Educator
Hello,
It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I continue my journey as the English Second Language Teacher at West Orange-Stark Elementary School. I am confident that I possess the qualifications necessary to help the campus promote its philosophy and goals, and a dedication to student growth both in academics and social skills.
I have achieved two degrees- a Master of Art in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Louisiana Tech University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from McNeese State University. I have also earned the certifications of Texas Educator- Core Subjects (EC-6, 4-8), English as a Second Language Supplemental, National Certificate for STEM Teaching from NISE, and Texas Principal as Instructional Leader (EC-12).
I have completed six years in the education system, which includes serving three years at the primary level as a classroom teacher and STEAM coordinator, two years in a central office administrative capacity, and I am in my second year as an English as a Second Language teacher. These roles provided me with a solid foundation of skills necessary to assist students on their journey towards success. I learned how to effectively collaborate with professionals in the school and community stakeholders for the benefit of achieving our goals and providing the best possible opportunities for students.
I look forward to continuing my support of English language learners with diverse activities and learning methods that cover aspects such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I will keep track of student progress, encourage growth, and be responsible for creating a positive class environment that enables students to reach their goals.
